#MeToo- Women who are Homeless say 'Me Too,' But No One Listens!

Thursday, May 17, 2018: 2:45 PM-3:45 PM
Lakeshore B (Hyatt Regency Minneapolis)
Women who are homeless face staggering levels of violence, in shelters and homeless housing as well as on the streets. Often, the women don’t report the incidences or aren’t being believed when they disclose the sexual and physical abuse they experience.  This facilitated conversation lead by a clinician and consumer, will explore the different types of assaults women who are homeless experience, and discuss ways health center staff and consumer colleagues may support women who have been assaulted.
Speakers:
Joanne Guarino (NCAB Regional Representative, Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program)
Mary L. Tornabene, FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner, Heartland Health Outreach)
