What Should HCHs and the National HCH Council Do to Address Racial Inequity?

Wednesday, May 16, 2018: 3:30 PM-4:30 PM
Lakeshore B (Hyatt Regency Minneapolis)
Racism is the single-most important historical reason for generational poverty in the U.S., yet it has not been addressed directly by most HCH programs.  We will explore the reasons for that avoidance, and ways to successfully (not easily!) address racism and racial inequities in our work.  Finally, we will explore what steps the Council can and should take to be a leader in this important area.
Speakers:
Bobby Watts, MPH, MS, CPH (CEO, National Health Care for the Homeless Council)
Jennifer L. Metzler, MPH (Executive Director, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, Inc.)
