The Learning Curve of Medication Assisted Treatment in Primary Care

Thursday, May 17, 2018: 8:30 AM-10:00 AM
Regency Room (Hyatt Regency Minneapolis)
Starting a MAT program is full of questions: DEA waivers? Reasonable workflows? Capacity issues? Which indicators of success or diversion are most reliable? Case management needs?  When do patients need a higher level of care? What happens to the clinic culture with MAT? What is trauma informed care in MAT? How do you prevent burnout? And how do you get reimbursed for it all?

We share lessons learned from starting our primary care MAT program from the ground up. We also guide participants through a process of visioning, resourcing, and creating next actions to implement at their home clinics.

Speakers:
Jennifer Smith, LCSW (Director of Behavioral Health, Primary Care Behavioral Health Provider, Project H.O.M.E., Stephen Klein Wellness Center)
Rae Coleman, BA (Opiate Use Disorder Community Health Worked, Project HOME Health Services, Stephen Klein Wellness Center)
Kara Cohen, BSN, MSN, CRNP (Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Project Home)
Robin DeBates, LCSW (Behavioral Health Consultant, Project HOME Health Services)
