There are a myriad of resources available to adults and youth experiencing homelessness in the Greater New Orleans (GNO) area. However, quality and access to care is a challenge caused in part by the lack of interdisciplinary agency collaboration. Increasing outreach efforts and community partnerships creates strong and reliable relationships between patients and healthcare providers. Local collaborative action and a more streamlined referral system is essential to ensure patients are receiving effective treatment methods, preventing duplication of care and improving the time it takes individuals to access care.
