2017 National HCH Conference & Policy Symposium Call for Proposals


ORAL PRESENTATION

These sessions will combine three oral presentations of 30 minutes each (inclusive of questions and answers) in one 90-minute time block. Individual submissions will be grouped with others that reflect a common theme. Presenters submitting proposals for this type of session may include slide presentations, brief videos, group exercises, and/or focused discussions on a particular topic. Only one presenter per 30-minute block will receive a code to register for conference at $250.

THINK TANK

A Think Tank is a 60-minute oral session for presenters who are interested in leading a discussion around an emerging issue or a key question for the HCH community. The topic described by the presenter will frame the entire 60-minute discussion, exploring the topic in depth and seeking innovative strategies or examples to address it with the group in a collaborative manner. Note that the Think Tanks are not intended to address specific clinical case studies. The person submitting the proposal has the responsibility of facilitating the Think Tank with a goal of building community among diverse participants from different types of organizations. Think Tanks will ideally allow participants to engage in action-based plans relating to future work, such as research projects, program innovations, published articles, or future conference presentations. Maximum of two (2) presenters per Think Tank. Only two presenters per Think Tank will receive a code to register for conference at $250.

WORKSHOP

A 90-minute workshop is an oral presentation which, provides an in-depth exploration of a program innovation, emerging issue, clinical challenge, or findings from a research project or quality improvement initiative. Presentations may include slide presentations, group exercises, and clinical case studies. Attention to administrative and policy aspects of clinical topics is strongly encouraged. Creative formats outside of traditional lecture/Q&A patterns are welcomed. Maximum of three presenters per workshop. Only three presenters per workshop will receive a code to register for conference at $250.

POSTER

Posters offer a succinct view of programs and practices, policy issues or research analysis. Posters will be presented during the opening night of the conference, June 22, 2017, during an official poster and networking reception. Posters will remain available for viewing throughout the conference during breaks; presenters should be with the poster during these scheduled viewings. Those proposing a poster should include a PDF of the poster or an abstract in their submission. Specific guidelines for printing the poster will be provided upon acceptance. Only one poster presenter will receive a code to register for conference at $250.

PRE-CONFERENCE INSTITUTE

Pre-Conference Institutes are full-day trainings (typically 6.5 hours of content plus an hour lunch and two breaks) specifically designed to provide intensive training on specific topics and issues. PCIs include participant involvement in the learning experience as well as skill-building activities. Note: Only THREE (3) PCIs will be selected for this conference; please ensure your proposed PCI will be a skill-building, interactive experience for participants. PCIs will occur on Wednesday, June, 21, 2017. Maximum of SIX (6) presenters per PCI. Only six presenters will receive a code to register for their PCI and conference at $250. LEARNING LAB

Learning Labs are half-day (4-hour) skill-building sessions. Learning Labs present an in-depth exploration of a new model, theory, program, or research topic. They are designed to teach new approaches and/or skills to the audience. Learning Labs must include participant involvement in the educational experience and practical skill-building activities. Note: Only TWO (2) Learning Labs will be selected for this conference; please make sure your proposal for a Learning Lab session meets the criteria. Learning Labs are scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2017. A maximum of two (2) presenters per Learning Lab. Only two presenters will receive a code to register for their Learning Lab and conference at $250.
